As usual, Letizia from Spain was out alone this Thursday: the queen had been invited to attend an awards ceremony in the capital and went there without her husband, King Felipe VI, surely busy on other subjects. But to make up for her absence, she had pulled out all the stops: wearing a $299 black leather dress and heeled sandals, she looked very rock’n’roll!
Especially since a few weeks ago, the one who ascended the Spanish throne in 2014 redid her hair color and chose a much darker tone to hide her white hair. So, between the leather dress and the black hair, we were almost on a reference to the greatest rock bands… and it really suited her!
A new Letizia, perhaps? It could well be, as the Queen of Spain approaches 50 years old, which she will have at the start of the school year. But this new look could offend the local population a little, already somewhat angry with her: a week ago, in fact, she had snubbed the grand gala which brought together most of the crowned heads of Europe for the anniversary of the young Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway. Her husband, Felipe, appeared there completely alone, on the arm of Catharina-Amalia, the heiress to the Dutch throne.
The Spanish media also had little appreciation for this absence and had given the reason for the presence of Marie-Chantal from Greece, with whom she has been at odds for several years. The wife of the Greek heir (who is also the cousin of Felipe VI) had indeed reacted without taking tweezers to the video in which we saw the Queen of Spain rather violently withdrawing the arm than her stepmother, the former Queen Sofia, had passed around the shoulder of her granddaughters, Leonor (16) and Sofia (15).
“No grandma deserves such treatment! Wow, she showed her true face“, she reacted to a journalist from Vanity Fair Spain. Very upset, the Spanish queen would not have wanted to meet her in Norway. An absence, however, noticed, a few days after a less than stellar documentary broadcast on her, and in which she had been described as a haughty woman and addicted to cosmetic surgery. In short, a troubled period for Letizia, who continues to shine against all odds!
