Nicolas Puschmann is providing a premiere in the new "Let's Dance" season: he is dancing with a man. Why does he reveal now.

This has never happened before: In the new "Let's Dance" season, a male dance couple floats across the floor for the first time. This honor goes to the first "Prince Charming" Nicolas Puschmann (29), who initially had a completely different idea of his participation. "At the beginning, when I dealt with 'Let's Dance', I was definitely convinced that I wanted to dance with a woman," he reveals in an interview with RTL. He was enthusiastic about the women's costumes and "I just think the picture is very beautiful," said Puschmann.

The 29-year-old found inspiration for a male dance partner in the show "Dancing Stars", the Austrian counterpart to "Let's Dance", in which two men danced together in 2011. "I caught myself thinking, 'Okay, this takes some getting used to.' And that is actually exactly the point I made during 'Prince Charming'. Because 'takes getting used to' is something positive, "explains Puschmann. He hopes to provide "a bit more education" again and believes that viewers will get used to the sight from show to show.

Kerstin Ott made the start

The first same-sex dance couple took place in 2019 at "Let's Dance". Singer Kerstin Ott (39), who has been married to her wife Karolina Köppen since 2017, performed together with professional dancer Regina Luca (32). They came in tenth place.

The new "Let's Dance" season begins on February 26th on RTL and TVNow. Nicolas Puschmann gets competition from the former "Tagesschau" head spokesman Jan Hofer (68), singer Senna Gammour (41), ex- "DSDS" participant Vanessa Neigert (28), singer Ilse DeLange (43), party hit star Mickie Krause (50 ), Professional boxer Simon Zachenhuber (22), soccer star Rúrik Gíslason (32), presenter Kai Ebel (56), "GZSZ" actress Valentina Pahde (26), actor Erol Sander (52), presenter Lola Weippert (24), model Kim Riekenberg (26) and Auma Obama (60), the half-sister of Barack Obama (59).
