On Friday evening the big semifinals of “Let’s Dance” were on. The finalists were chosen after three challenging dances.

Two dances and an additional “Impro Dance”: The semi-finalists of “Let’s Dance” were on Friday evening (May 21 on RTL, too via TVNow) particularly challenged. Who could get the final ticket in the end?

“Prince Charming” Nicolas Puschmann (30) and Vadim Garbuzov (33) started with a quick jive. There were 25 points for this, with Joachim Llambi (56) being the most critical with 7 points. Boxers Simon Zachenhuber (22) and Patricija Belousova (25) delighted with a tango. Motsi Mabuse (40) and Jorge González (53) described it as the couple’s best dance so far. At the end of the day, they had 25 points.

Actress Valentina Pahde (26) and Valentin Lusin (33) performed a Cha Cha Cha as their first dance. The only celebrity woman in the semifinals also got 25 points with her dance partner. Professional soccer players Rúrik Gíslason (33) and Renata Lusin (33) shone with a final Charleston and “excellent entertainment”. The two of them got a whopping 30 points for it.

Critical words in the second round

Then there was the second dance, a quickstep, for Simon Zachenhuber and Patricija Belousova. In the second attempt, the two only got 22 points. The combative Paso Doble of Valentina Pahde and Valentin Lusin, on the other hand, scored 29 points. Nicolas Puschmann and Vadim Garbuzov showed the same dance, but could not score as well. “That wasn’t enough drama for me. Nothing at all got through to me,” explained Joachim Llambi. However, her colleague Motsi Mabuse was able to appreciate the special choreography. There were 24 points at the end, only 6 points from Llambi.

Rúrik Gíslason and Renata Lusin offered a contemporary dance as the second dance, which, according to Mabuse, will go down in the history of “Let’s Dance”. “Just goose bumps, expressive, terrific.” For Llambi, the dance even earned more than 10 points. So 30 points were no longer a surprise in the jury’s judgment.

“Impro Dance” became a great challenge

At the “Impro Dance Even More Extreme” the dance couples had to do a dance afterwards without knowing the corresponding song. During the one and a half minute time for a fashionable “quick change”, only the professional heard the music and was then able to talk to his celebrity for 30 seconds before the performance followed. A salsa was waiting for Zachenhuber and Belousova, which the jury could not convince in terms of dance (21 points). To their displeasure, Pahde and Lusin pulled the slow waltz, which they have not yet had to show on the show. But the worries were unfounded: The jury was enthusiastic about the soulful performance (26 points).

The dancing couple celebrates a special premiere

Gíslason and Lusin danced a rumba that, according to Llambi, had technical defects (22 points). For Puschmann and Garbuzov the slow fox waited at the end, which was named the best “impro dance” of the evening with 27 points. According to the overall jury verdict, the order was Gíslason, Pahde, Puschmann and Zachenhuber. The audience voting brought the decision: Simon Zachenhuber and Patricija Belousova were eliminated shortly before the final. The Lusin couple are in the final together for the first time and are fighting each other for the title of the RTL dance show.
