At the end of last year, LG presented two design television concepts: an Oled model — the LG Objet TV — which hides behind a removable fabric panel, and an LCD television — the LG StandbyME —, transportable on a stand. and usable wirelessly thanks to an integrated battery.
LG Electronics intends to invest in the “lifestyle” television segment with design and original models. The South Korean manufacturer has tried to offer some televisions that were out of the ordinary, such as the LG Oled Wallpaper (LG 65W7) that we tested. The latter was discontinued in 2020 in favor of the LG Oled Gallery. More affordable, this model also sticks to the wall, but you have to be able to hide the cables. More recently, LG marketed the world’s first rollable TV, a very expensive 65-inch OLED model since the LG 65RX has been on the market since last year for the modest sum of €85,000. It’s design, original, but it remains in the realm of luxury. At the end of 2021, LG unveiled two new concepts for designer televisions – or “lifestyle”, as the company likes to define them. They bring a little freshness to this market and compete with Samsung The Sero and The Serif.
The LG Objet OLED (65ART90): the designer Oled TV
The LG Objet OLED is an OLED TV in the form of an easel that is placed against a wall. The base, covered with a Kvadrat fabric (red, green or beige), can go down to reveal the entire Oled panel or go up to leave only a strip of the screen. This function, already seen on LG’s roll-up television, allows you to display the date, time, a slideshow or even the information of the title being played.

The LG Objet OLED TV would have an OLED Evo panel already used by the LG 65G1, a little brighter than a “classic” OLED panel. On the audio side, LG would have opted for a 4.2 system with a power of 80 W. The South Korean manufacturer’s televisions are not bad on this point, and this model could therefore replace a portable speaker. In the photos, this TV looks quite successful. Note that, as is often the case in staged illustrations, the cables are entirely absent from the photos.
The LG Objet OLED 65ART90 should be marketed later this year in France. This model is already sold in South Korea for around 9.9 million won, or €7,350.
LG StandByME (27ART10): a portable 27-inch television on a stand with an integrated battery

The LG StandbyME or 27ART10 is a 27-inch TV fixed on a stand, all in height. It is totally autonomous since the built-in battery gives it an autonomy of about three hours. The height of the TV is adjustable, as is the tilt and swivel. LG has also planned a pivot for switching to portrait mode, a way to more effectively display content from networks via your smartphone (AirPlay or Google Cast from Android). With its foot fitted with wheels, this model explicitly aims to be moved around the house, from the kitchen to the bathroom, through the bedroom or the living room. The 27-inch format makes it more of a personal television, unlike large televisions that bring the family together. The finishes seem particularly neat with a fabric covering on the back of the slab.

This TV animated by webOS uses wifi to access the various contents. We find well-known applications such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney + and, in France, the classics MyCanal, OCS or even Molotov. Another novelty, the controls are carried out directly from the touch screen, in addition to the remote control.

The LG 27ART10 television should also be marketed in France later this year. It is already sold in South Korea for a price of around 1 million won, or €740.
