We are constantly being promoted to new devices that are supposed to revolutionize our lives. But which lifestyle innovations really make sense? The GALA editorial team helps you to keep track of the fitness, health and lifestyle areas and presents useful products every month. Our lifestyle musthaves are rated according to their use, handling and effect.
In November we tested great new products again. Also included are: a candle, a mini garden, a cardio bike and a steamer.

Product: Lidl Sansibar Deluxe scented candle Sylter amber
Price: 6.99 euros
Use: I can never have enough of wonderful scented candles. The Lidl Sansibar Deluxe scented candle Sylter Bernstein sprays a pleasant scent with a wood note throughout the room and creates a cozy Christmas atmosphere. It feels like a vacation right away. Splendid!
Conclusion: A pleasant fragrance that embellishes the cozy winter time a little. The limited collection from Lidl and Sansibar also looks really chic and looks good in any living room.

To use: With the self-sufficient and fully automatic indoor smart garden technology from ingarden you can grow fresh, high-quality microgreens – with little effort.
Use: It’s child’s play: the pads supplied are poured over with water and the button with the timer is pressed. Then sit back and watch the superfood grow. The first microgreens can be harvested in seven days at the latest.
Conclusion: I live in a city apartment with a balcony, but not on the sunny side. Planting herbs was almost impossible for me. This makes me all the more enthusiastic about my little indoor garden: whether radishes, broccoli or rocket – the microgreens now refine every one of my dishes.

Product: Cirrus No.3 steamer from Steamery
Price: 160 euros
To use: The Cirrus No. 3 is a hybrid of an iron and a steamer. The hot steam kills bacteria, smooths out creases and ensures that clothes feel fresh even between washes. It also has an ironing plate that heats up to the same level as an iron. You can even iron your clothes gently with it.
Use: At the push of a button, the ironing plate heats up in just 25 seconds and you’re ready to go. The water tank for the steam function is also hidden in the handle. This is filled up before use. Heat protection for the hands is also included – so you can easily steam anything that looks somehow wrinkled.
Conclusion: I’ll be honest, I never thought I really needed a steamer. But now that I have one, I never want to be without it again. If I want to wear a blouse or a dress, it only takes a few minutes to remove small creases. The steamer is now always with you, even on longer journeys. And let’s be honest, the design can’t beat anything, right ?!

Product: Peloton bike
Price: Bicycle approx. 1500 euros, monthly. Membership from 39 euros
To use: Cardio Bike – only in smart. Peloton takes the fitness bike to a whole new level with live classes and thousands of on-demand classes on your own screen. Like a personal spinning class – only at home.
Use: I test the Peloton during a trial lesson in the flagship store in Hamburg. The bike can be perfectly adjusted to my dimensions and needs. Then I choose a course that sounds appealing and off I go. The coach on the screen explains everything exactly and motivates me to do small sprints. After the program, I get off the machine, exhausted but happy, and the time flew by. The next day my muscles are burning like they haven’t done for a long time, but I think I’m really well trained.
Conclusion: With such a cool device, there are no more excuses for exercising, after all, you don’t even have to leave the house! I just have to save a little …
