Phil Collins' daughter talks about her eating disorder

Lily Collins has been battling an eating disorder for years. In the podcast "Make It Reign" she speaks openly about her illness.
In the 2017 drama "To The Bone", Lily Collins (31, "Emily in Paris") played a 20-year-old who suffers from anorexia. The plot of the film came frighteningly close to the real life of the actress. In the podcast "Make It Reign", the daughter of music legend Phil Collins (69, "In The Air Tonight") spoke surprisingly openly about her fight with an eating disorder – and explained who is by her side.
She used to hear "many voices" in her head that "silenced" her true voice, Collins reported in an interview with presenter Josh Smith. Today, thanks to therapeutic treatment, she is beginning to understand what happened to her then and why she imposed "restrictions" on herself. "I think I can figure out why I allowed these darker thoughts to tell me how to live my life, what to eat and not to eat," she explained.
Thanks to Charlie McDowell, Lily Collins was able to "just let go"
Today, the British woman who lives in the US wants to give top priority to the things that "make her the happiest" in life. This also means her fiancé Charlie McDowell (37, "The One I Love"), who is one of the people who allow Collins to be the "best version" of himself. "I've just been empowered by friendships and people I love," she said. "That encouraged me to just let go."
What the 31-year-old no longer wants to do is starve – neither physically nor emotionally. "If you're hungry in any way … you'll never work 100 percent," she continued. So you don't live your life the way you should.
She has been engaged since September
Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell are currently working together on the film "Gilded Rage", which is about the investigation into the murder of an investment banker. Collins plays the main role in it, the 37-year-old directs. The couple had confirmed their relationship in August 2019, followed by the engagement in September 2020.
