Lio claims that the one who raped her as a child is Helena Noguerra’s father: the consequences on her relationship with her sister

In an Ipsos survey carried out for the Face à l’inceste association in November 2020, one in 10 French people say they have been victims of incest, or around 6.7 million people. A real societal scourge on which several personalities have spoken out to try to put an end to the taboo and make voices heard. Recently, Emmanuelle Béart co-directed a powerful documentary, A Silence So Loud, drawing on her own suffering as a victim, while Christine Angot will unveil Une Famille at the cinema on March 20, which looks back on her experience as a victim of incest. Another artist spoke on the subject in a magazine interview Max to be published this Saturday: Lio.

Aged 61, singer and actress Lio has thrown a huge wrench into the pond: she claims to have been abused by her mother’s companion Alberto Nogueira. Already two years ago, the artist had already claimed to have been raped at the age of 10, by “a close relative of the family” whose name she did not give. She now points to the person: the musicologist Alberto Nogueira, with whom her mother had lived since she was very young. A man who is the father of his sister, the actress and singer Helena Noguerra, seven years his junior.

To explain to what extent the woman who is very committed to violence against women was suspicious on a daily basis and always on her guard, Lio reveals that this goes back to a trauma she experienced as a child: “Pbecause a childhood with an incestuous stepfather – I am not afraid to say it today – also distanced me from my sister, because my stepfather is her father. It all never ends.“

Lio had already confided in a sexual assault two years ago

This revelation to the general public follows another, made in 2022. The interpreter of Banana Split had confided to Télé-Loisirs that she had “been raped by someone close to the family.” She explained thus: “when I was 10 years old in the back of my parents’ car. Digitally. Quietly, while my parents drove, next to my little sister who was 3 years old. No one has ever called it rape and I realized two years ago that I was raped. I put that word on it. And nothing has happened since.“

In Gala in 2011, the two sisters were interviewed together. Helena Noguerra explained that she did not like being defined as “the sister of”: “But otherwise, with my sister, I have no problem!“To define their bond, one, Helena, will say:”I like to say that she adds fuel to my nonchalance and that I add water to her wine.“The other, Lio, will declare: “Hélène was essential during certain dramatic moments in my life.“She refers to the violence she confided to having suffered from the father of her twin daughters.
