Christoph Blocher looks toof a long career back. As a student in the legal department of EMS-Chemie, he quickly made a career and in 1983 took over the majority of the shares in the company, which is now run by Blocher’s daughter Magdalena Martullo-Blocher.

Blocher’s political career led from Meilen local council through the national council to the federal council. From 2004 to 2007 Christoph Blocher was head of the Justice and Police Department (FDJP). In December 2007 the SVP magistrate was voted out. Such a vote has only happened four times since 1848. Christoph Blocher has been the publisher of numerous free newspapers since 2017.

Christoph Blocher is also an art lover and collector. He has an extensive collection of masterpieces of Swiss painting from the 19th and 20th centuries. Blocher owns many works by Ferdinand Hodler, Albert Anker and Alberto Giacometti.
