Log splitters achieve enormous pressure (split pressure) through their hydraulics, so that they can produce firewood effortlessly. Especially with longer pieces of wood, the log splitters are therefore very practical – but also not entirely harmless. Many log splitters therefore offer protective mechanisms: a cage, for example, prevents pieces of wood from flying around, while two-hand operation is intended to ensure that the user does not accidentally endanger his hands.
Nevertheless, caution is always required when working with a log splitter. You should also wear protective clothing. We recommend:
- non-slip work gloves
- safety goggles
- Steel-toed work shoes
