The walk, before Christmas Eve, was not as peaceful as expected. Saturday December 24, at the beginning of the afternoon, a 27-year-old young woman went for a walk in the Don valley, near the town of Guémené-Penfao (Loire-Atlantique). Accompanied by her two dogs, she follows the course of this river, which is a tributary of the Vilaine.

In the area where it is located, the watercourse is boxed along a cliff. The walker therefore follows the path that winds along this natural obstacle. Problem: when turning around, she realizes that the path taken to go has become impassable due to a rapid rise in water. A direct consequence of the heavy rainfall that showered western France last week.

Blocked at the foot of the cliff, with no other possible access by land, the young woman contacted the emergency services. Firefighters from Guéméné, Guenrouet and Châteaubriant came to get her out of this bad patch. It was then around 3:30 p.m. Using a boat, they allowed him and his two dogs to cross the river safely and without getting wet.
