LoL: Jankos not really tender on the passage of Rekkles at G2

Today, Rekkles has been totally embraced by fans of the Karmine Corp. who are very happy to have welcomed the Swede in LFL. We don’t know how long he will stay in our French league and the ADC have made no secret of their desire to return to the LEC next year, but for the moment we are making the most of having this monument among us.

Speaking of LEC, Rekkles hasn’t left a lasting memory of him to G2 Esports fans. If Martin has shone many times with Fnatic, the Samurai have not won anything with him… Worse, they missed the League of Legends Worlds for the first time in their history. Last year, G2 had however succeeded in building a superteam, programmed to crush everything in its path… Despite the big promises, we know the rest and the 2021 season remains a bitter failure for Ocelote. The latter did not hesitate and during the transfer window, 3 players (including Rekkles) and the coaching staff left. Little by little the tongues are loosened and we obtain more elements of context to understand this rout. Jankos, always loyal to the post, delivered his truth to Doublelift in the show Trash Talk. He was careful to choose his words carefully, but he was not kind to Rekkles.

Rekkles, a season spent at the hotel!

It’s no secret and we’ve heard the same echo several times: Rekkles was not well integrated at G2 Esports. This was the case on Summoner’s Rift, but also outside of it, in real life. Even if the matches are won above all on the field, forming a collective and working on its communication also requires good IRL integration. If the rumors of drama and conflict between Jankos and Rekkles have been denied by the jungler, the Pole recognizes however that he did not have any chemistry with the Swede. He remained courteous, but he still used unequivocal terms: Jankos sees himself as a team player, unlike Rekkles.

To illustrate his remarks, Jankos spoke in particular about housing arrangements. The Swede spent his year in Berlin in a hotel … The idea would have been to recreate the atmosphere of the Worlds. Everyone is free to make their own choices, but we find that a bit odd. It gives the impression of just passing through and it’s much more complicated to invite your teammates to your home. Ocelote had previously spoken about the very different rhythms of life within G2 in 2021, pointing out that Rekkles was a goes to bed early. But in addition to going to bed early, the Swede overall would not have really participated in the moments of life of the team, despite repeated invitations from Jankos. Difficult in this context to form a compact and united roster.

Rekkles, a weakside player who can no longer carry?

In his intervention, Jankos went a little further in his explanations of the Rekkles failure. The jungler has a central place in the team and he is very well placed to measure the strength and priority of his laners. And in 2021, he found himself with two weaksides… It’s rather unusual, but his toplaner (Wunder) wanted to play weakside, as did his botlaner (Rekkles). Only playing with players requiring resources and ganks can be dangerous. But playing with two lanes that want to play passive is even more complicated!

There was a time, Rekkles was renowned for his carry abilities. Without being the most dominating player, we remember with nostalgia his tendencies to destroy the opposing botlanes when he played with grandpa YellOwStar. But it’s true that for some time now he’s been playing more conservatively, even in LFL with the Karmine Corp. The question is whether he still has the desire and the level to play strongside. For Jankos, this is no longer really the case, but the future will tell us and from what we see in LFL, we tend to give reason to the jungler of G2. Even if the Pole used some smooth words, these are still very harsh… They give the impression that the Swede is not an ideal teammate and that he is no longer capable of being the MVP of ‘a team.

With 159 champions available, League of Legends offers a lot of diversity to its players. While everyone has their preferences, some characters also give us nightmares. A former world champion has not been kind to Tryndamere, calling for its removal.
