Those who have been following esports for a while know that drama is never far away. League of Legends is no exception to the rule and even if the scene has become much structured and professionalized over the years, it is not uncommon to see conflicts or disputes emerge. During the last Worlds, we were able to see Fnatic implode from the inside … The memories are not particularly good, for the players but also for the spectators. In Iceland, abandonment and departure from Upset had blown up the collective and nothing had improved after the early elimination of the structure. Bwipo did not extend, Adam got his departure and Nisqy was benched. The Frenchman had notably marked the offseason with his murderous tweets against his former teammate. Calmer, the Belgian midlaner had also had a few words against the German ADC, who would have played a role in his replacement.
However, Nisqy seems to have moved on. Guest on the show Freewheeling Zack, the subject Upset is inevitably passed on the billiards. His response was full of restraint and class.
Playing again for Fnatic? No problem for Nisqy
Nisqy is currently still under contract with fnatic (until the end of 2023). He was put aside during the last transfer window to set up a “superteam”, with Humanoid on the midlane. The Belgian could have it bad, but even if he is inevitably disappointed with the situation, he is not at all at war with the structure. He remains very professional and if tomorrow Fnatic calls on him, even for just a few games (injury, illness, unavailability, etc.), he would respond: “I don’t care what happened before”. Beyond his contract, he would not take this call as an obligation but as a chance. He wants to play at the highest level and he only thinks about the LEC. He could surely have signed for an ERL team, but for him the level of play is not interesting enough at the moment.
It should also be remembered that Nisqy keeps friends at Fnatic, such as Support Hyllisang. Note also that the story between the structure and the player is not new. Long before the incredible Worlds of last year, the midlaner had worn the colors of Fnatic Academy in 2016-2017. Next to Broxah, he had notably qualified the team for the Challengers Series and for the EU LCS at the time. The Belgian therefore still has a lot of memories and ties that bind him to the structure.
Replay with Upset? A possibility to study
During the show, Zack went into detail about the journey of Nisqy, from the French LANs to the Worlds. And wherever he went, the Belgian always wanted to surround himself with trusted players, with whom the current went well in but also outside the game. from Upset, we feel that something has broken, especially since he would then also have played a role in the benching of Nisqy. The player says it to him without being specific: “he did something that I did not appreciate”. For this reason, he’s not 100% certain that he would play again in a team with the German if the opportunity arose, but he doesn’t want to ‘block doors’. There is therefore no categorical no and the door remains ajar, even if it will surely take a long discussion between the two to try to put the pieces back together. Note also that the two have known each other for a while: they won the DreamHack Valencia and the MobaCup together in 2016 with Melty.
Nisqy nevertheless wanted to emphasize that despite everything that may have been said or written, he does not hate Upset as a human. He even had discussions with him to talk about what had happened. The page is turned and Nisqy now just wants to advance. We can only salute this proof of maturity and wisdom.

Nisqy hasn’t really disappeared from League of Legends radars, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen him compete in Europe. Blocked on the Fnatic bench, some would like to see him have fun in ERL. But the Belgian has his reasons for refusing such offers.
