LoL: Who are the Koreans from LCK/LPL to discover at the EUM?

The European Masters bring together the best level teams ERL and within the French community, we can’t wait to find the Spanish teams of LVP. While the rivalry between our two countries has already existed for a while in League of Legends, it has taken on a new dimension since the Pixel War or Karmine Corp. and KOI did the show. Beep Beep Boup, our robot radar tells us that the FC Barcelona has already left during the Play-In phase.

But there will not only be French and Spaniards during the competition. For Spring 2022, we will also find exoticism with no less than 3 Korean players. This is not a first and we will remember that for the first edition of the competition, the legend Insec lifted the cup. Today in LEC, HiRit also participated in two campaigns with LDLC OL in 2019. But seeing Koreans is always something out of the ordinary at the EUM, so let’s take a look at their background and their history.

Haru the world champion

We already talked about Kang”HaruMin-seung in a previous article which listed the former globalists involved in the EUM this year. The jungler, however, has an additional particularity compared to players like Rekkles or Cabochard: he won the Worlds in 2017! we owe him the skin Samsung Galaxy Ezreal and even if he was just a substitute, no one can take away his status. In South Korea, he rolled his bump quite a bit since he also wore the colors of CJ Entus, SKT and Hanwha Life Esport. Before arriving in Europe, he also took the time to spend a short month in Latin America near Kaos Latin Gamers. At 23, he has already traveled many kilometers and we are sure he has many anecdotes to tell us.

He has been playing in Europe since the 2022 season where he was recruited by X7 in NLC (North Europe). Many were skeptical when he arrived. Some thought he had come to take it easy. But the Korean is still in great shape and he is not yet old enough to be in a retirement home. NLC champion from his first try, it will be necessary to watch this talented jungler carefully who has a rather impressive KDA on Hecarim this season (49). Of course, he only took the horse out 4 times, but that was enough to arouse our curiosity.

Tempt, a Korean barbecue sauce

League of Legends

Tempt also has a lot of experience under the hood. This midlaner knew the era of EMP and he has been playing for the pros since 2016. He wore the colors of bbq Olivers for several seasons before being recruited by Hanwha Life Esports. He will have had the merit of lasting in the LCK, even if he never participated in the playoffs… To be more precise, he often played the bottom of the table and on several occasions he had to defend his team’s place in the Korean first division (4 promotion tournaments, all won). Tempt is therefore not the most brilliant of Koreans, but he knows how to be a clutch in important moments and his mind is made of hardened steel. The promotion, he also knew it in Latin America, qualifying Team Aze in the first division. Tempt is truly a dependable guy to rely on.

During his career, he shared teams with relatively well-known players. We could cite vintage Where Ghost, two former world champions, but the list is long and we can also mention Lehends, Trick or IgNar. He also had a few adventures with Haru and the two thieves arrived together in Europe near X7. Recruiting a Korean can be risky, but it’s often less so when you bring in a doublet. It helps for adaptation and communication and you will have to watch the mid/jungle duo carefully. The Karmine Corp. has been warned!

Lee “Ruby” Sol-min, a monstrous unicorn?

The last Korean in the competition has already been seen during the Play-In phase. Lee”Ruby” Sol-min. The midlaner made a strong impression with Unicorns of Love Sexy Edition : 6-0 during the groups and 2-0 during the Knockout Stage. Equally capable of playing controlling mages and assassins alike, Ruby is a gem that could dazzle the European scene. Even if his team arrives with any status (pool 4), it will be necessary to be careful not to underestimate this German team which has former players in its ranks LEC (Lurox) or LFL (iBo). Ruby is currently having his first experience in Europe and so far he seems to have acclimatized well. But he hasn’t met the old veteran yet Eika and we can’t wait to see if he can stand the comparison with the fox.

Before arriving in Europe, Ruby traveled through the major leagues in Asia. He played in the league PCS at BOOM Esports, in LPL (China) at Rogue Warriors and of course in South Korea but only in Challenger Series. He went well for a year at Afreeca Freecs, but only as a sub. Unfortunately for him, he never really broke through and his trophy cabinet remains relatively empty. For the moment, his beginnings on the old continent are solid and he could well make a name for himself in the event of a good performance at the European Masters.

esport-lol

In recent days, the French have been quite busy defending the country during the Pixel War, notably facing attacks from the Spaniards. There will also be a fight on League of Legends with the start of the EUM Main Event, which will not be lacking in French players.
