LoL: Who is the favorite to be the LEC Summer Split MVP?

Certainly the title of MVP does not bring much to the player receiving it, since it does notdoes not help his team to qualify for the World Championshipsbut there remains evidence of a personal achievement recognized by the community. Even if the identity of the MVP of this Summer Split 2022 does not flow from source, some favorites can clearly be identified.

A MAD Lions player or nothing?

With 4 out of 5 players selected to represent the LEC All Pro Teamthe first equals of the regular season have a good chance of seeing the MVP being selected in their ranks. Nisqy seems to be the ideal candidatewith its seven MVP titles during the regular season. The Belgian is the player who has received this distinction the most times during the Summer Split. Alone two other players of the team received at least one MVP title : UNFORGIVEN (3 times MVP) and Elyoya (2 times MVP). Kaiser and Armute seem a bit off course, because of relatively low individual statistics. Nevertheless the toplaner could be an interesting candidate, because his stats place him still among the best in the league even if he dominate in any area. It would still be very surprising because he was the only MAD Lions not selected in all three All Pro Teams.

Of the three players who received MVP titles, Elyoya doesn’t seem to be in a good position either.. Although he has landed several genius shots, his overall stats among other junglers are rather low, showing that he has some hard to be regular. UNFORGIVEN is very good atresource acquisitionbut overall lacked a bit of boosts in vision capture and damage inflicted per minute, showing that it can still progress in this area. Only this reflection is also valid for Nisqy, even if the Belgian has an excuse. He spends a lot of time to shift, being the midlaner of the LEC with the best kill participation percentage. It is the profile of a player at the service of his team, which is rather a quality. If he seems to stand out from his partners on this subject, is that enough compared to the other leaders in the midlane?

A mid laner or nothing?

On the 90 MVP titles awarded during the regular season, 28 were awarded to midlaners. Besides Nisqy, the best candidates seem to be Perkz, Vetheo and Caps. However Perkz and Vetheo could suffer from the disappointment linked to the performances of their teams, which were expected a little higher in the rankings. The French still has a chance to shine in the playoffs, but the chances of the Croatian are very low, especially since he is the one of the quartet of midlaners not to have been selected in the All Pro Team.

Caps has for its part realized a great seasonand his stats are more than honorable. He seems to be the candidate better placed to steal the title from Nisqy, and it’s hard to decide between the two players. We must not forget either Humanoidwho despite very few MVP titles (only 1), is the midlaner who inflicted the most damage per minute, is second in vision capture (behind Vetheo) and third in resource recovery (behind Vetheo and Larssen). Nevertheless he is also the one with the “worst” participation in kills : only 60%. Vetheo is on the heels of him, with 62%, which remains far from the 71% of Caps and 74% of Nisqy.

Riot Games plans to introduce a new feature that will allow the community to block the most toxic players so that it’s harder to fall back on them. The problem is that so far there is no indication that this will be introduced in League of Legends.
