No Turkish or Russian team at the worlds, Europe rode their EMEA region in the regional final this weekend. And there will be at least one Frenchman at Wild Rift Icons.

The LoL Wild Rift Grand Finals took place this weekend, with the game’s top six teams from across EMEA. The local champions were therefore qualified to participate in this last regional tournament of Season 1 of the Riot Games mobile title.

For these EMEA Championship (or WEC), the EU was represented by the European champion Game Lord and its French REDemption and Heste, but also two teams qualified by the Last Chance: Rix.GG (with Clue and Random) or even Team Queso (with Methanaute). This last structure had obtained a slot normally reserved for the CIS region but disqualified because of the war in Ukraine.

Unicorns of Love, only CIS team in the running, could not represent its region at the WEC, since the structure was eliminated from the entry play-in. Ironically, she was beaten by Formulation Gamingstructure which had also recovered a slot normally allocated to Russia.

At the end of the 6-man competition, the representatives for the worlds are now known: Team Queso wins €94,000 and will go directly to the group stage of the Icons Global Championship. Rix and Game-Lord will go through the play-in. So there will be no CIS or Turkey team at the worlds.
