Greece is a place of longing and a dream destination for many German travellers. Special highlight: newly opened dream hotels that promise relaxation, pure luxury and unforgettable activities. We present five new openings that will make the longing for the next holiday in Greece even greater.

1. Mirage Bleu Hotel: 5-star hotel on the postcard-perfect island of Zakynthos

A dream in white and sea colors: On the Greek island of Zakynthos, which lies directly across from the west coast of the Peloponnese in the Ionian Sea, the new opening for 2023 is called: Mirage Bleu. The 5-star hotel on the east coast near Tragaki is consistently kept in white, blue and turquoise tones and impresses with its minimalist design.

Most of the rooms have a private pool and sea views. There is also a spacious community pool, and the Amboula beach can be reached in a few minutes on foot. Children are welcome at the one-story hotel, and there’s a separate children’s buffet for them. Table tennis and darts are among the activities on offer, as is snorkeling in the turquoise sea.

2. Pnoes Luxury Suites: luxury suites with private pool in Halkidiki peninsula

On the Greek mainland, at the foot of the port city of Thessaloniki, lies the next elysium for beach fans: the Halkidiki peninsula with its three headlands Kassandra, Sithonia and Athos. The westernmost, Kassandra, is the best developed for tourism. The “Pnoes Luxury Suites” are also located here, near Paliouri. The new aparthotel complex is a bit inland, but Porto Valitsa beach is 2.9 kilometers away and Chrousso beach is also just 3 kilometers away. Visiting them is not a problem, as the luxury complex has a car rental service.

Each unit has a fully equipped kitchen including a dining and seating area, satellite TV, industrial-style bathroom and private pools, balconies or little gardens. The design of the suites is kept in light earth tones, simple, noble, with natural materials and lots of wood. A feel-good place for couples and families.

3. Esperanza Villas in Flogita: Brand new villas with private pool on Halkidiki peninsula

Another dream destination on the Kassandra promontory of the Chalkidiki Peninsula: the newly opened Esperanza Villas. The one-storey houses made of rough natural stone are located in the coastal village of Flogita, which stretches over a hill. The white sandy beach of Flogita, which has been awarded the Blue Flag eco label, is also within easy walking distance – it is about a kilometer away.

Each of the brand new villas has a private outdoor pool, sun loungers, a garden with a wide view and a covered wooden terrace. Inside, the six traditional stone houses are equipped with an open kitchen, dining table and couch, as well as three bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate toilet. Everything in earthy tones, simple and with lots of wood.

4. Diverso Platamon Luxury Hotel & Spa: Pure luxury at the marina with a view of Mount Olympus

On the Greek mainland, southeast of Mount Olympus, lies the coastal town of Platamonas with its picturesque harbor. There are sandy beaches as well as fine pebbly beaches surrounded by dense, green forests on the mountain slopes. The new opening at the marina is called “Diverso Platamon Luxury Hotel & Spa” and is housed in a two-storey, white cube palace with a large roof terrace and playful iron balconies. Elegance and style rule here. Its ambience describes the luxury hotel between design and romance.

All rooms offer views of the Aegean Sea or Mount Olympus. The heart of the house is the outdoor pool and the wellness center with hammam, sauna, hydromassage, solarium and fitness center. The in-house restaurant serves gourmet dishes on the terrace overlooking the mountains and the sea.

5. Ikos Odisia: Elegant beachfront suites on the island of Corfu

Welcome to the world of unconditional luxury: the concept of the Ikos Resorts hotel group seems to have been well received, with the second hotel opening on the Greek island of Corfu in May 2023. Of course, directly on the sandy beach of a secluded bay on a peninsula in the northeast, embedded in pine, lemon and olive trees and a lovingly landscaped garden.

With elegant beachfront suites and six restaurants and bars run by Michelin-starred chefs. Everything is included in the 5-star resort: all menus and top wines (300 are on the wine list) as well as cocktails and rides in the hotel’s own Teslas. Ten heated pools invite you to swim and relax, there are separate paddling opportunities for children and their own adventure program, suitable for all age groups. The fact that the Ikos is in the top league of luxury resorts is also shown by the range of activities (from yoga and Pilates to water and countless ball sports through to Zumba, fitness and aqua gymnastics) and the stylish spa.
