Lost Ark has a plan to cut through the endless queues

It is very difficult to connect quickly to Lost Ark since the release of the MMORPG in Europe. The servers are saturated. Amazon Games Studios announces a plan to end the wait time.

The beginnings of Lost Ark in Europe are difficult. After a launch that could not be carried out on schedule, the Korean video game went through a difficult first weekend. At peak times, for example Saturday and Sunday evening, we witnessed the formation of endless queues, which did not really disappear until after midnight.

For thousands of gamers, it sometimes took hours to log in — literally. On the Trixion server, which is one of the most frequented by the French-speaking community, there were more than 12,000 people waiting around 7 p.m. A person logging in at that time could expect to play around 10:30 p.m.

A new region and new servers for Lost Ark

Under these circumstances, Amazon Games Studios, which distributes the game in the West, has just announced a battle plan on February 13: the launch of a new “region” in Europe to welcome players. This region should include new servers to absorb all those who hope to explore the world of Arkésia.

We are working as fast as possible to set up a brand new server region in Europe reads the announcement on the official website. This region will not offer the possibility of cross-regional play, that is to say with the region that already exists. ” This also means that regional features […] will not be accessible in the new European region. »

Currently, Lost Ark in the West is divided into four regions: North America (West Zone), North America (East Zone), South America, and Europe (called Central Zone). For the European region, there are currently 19 game servers, which are still indicated as full. At launch, there were only 9, which had to be reinforced with 10 more.

The publisher believes that “ the new region will be ideal for players who have not yet created their character or are not committed to staying on their current server “. But he warns that by the time the new region is in place—a matter of days, presumably—there will likely still be lengthy wait times before you can connect.

However, there remains one regret: Amazon Games Studios does not seem able to allow a free transfer of characters from one server to another, which would have the advantage of allowing overcrowded servers to offload onto others. There doesn’t seem to be any plans to launch servers per language either — which would avoid the rat race on public chat channels.
