Lots of reactions – “Grinch” arrested: Eisenerzer police show humor

The Eisenerz police probably saved some locals on Christmas Eve – or at least brightened the mood: They put the Christmas grouch “Grinch” behind bars. Many were amused by the photo on the Styrian Police’s Facebook page on December 23: “It’s great that you can still laugh at times like this!”

“Great police success: Christmas saved!” That was the headline of the Styrian police in a Facebook post on December 23rd. Above it is a picture of three police officers from Eisenerz, who had put an unknown person in a Santa Claus costume with a green mask behind bars. “He is strongly suspected of having planned several thefts of Christmas presents for Christmas Eve and possibly already carried out some of them,” the police continued. As with the well-known film Christmas grouch “Grinch”, he too had bad experiences with Christmas. For the posting, the police earned a lot of salmon smileys and thumbs up – at least from most of them. “Put a sapling in his cell” or “It’s great that you have at least a little bit of humor” were comments, many of them thanked them for the police work during the whole year.
