Lousy scam – fake address change ended up costing 700 euros

A 20-year-old from Flachgau became the victim of fraud on October 4th. The man was contacted by an unknown person via SMS and asked to change the address for the package he had ordered using a link sent along with him.

The man changed the address and confirmed the request to transfer 1.20 euros for the change using Push-Tan. Immediately afterwards, he received an order confirmation for admission tickets to Disneyland in Hong Kong. The Flachgau resident immediately contacted his bank and found that 700 euros had been debited from his account with the Push-Tan confirmation. Despite the immediate account blocking, there was damage of 700 euros . Further investigations are ongoing.
