Luka Rocco Magnotta: what becomes of the “Montreal skinner”?

Luka Rocco Magnotta aka the “Montreal skinner”, was sentenced to life for killing a Chinese student in Canada. What becomes of it?

He is a man who has made people talk about him, whose video of his arrest has been revealed. Luka Rocco Magnotta, real name Eric Clinton Kirk Newman, was sentenced in December 2014 to life imprisonment with a 25-year prison term. Specifically, the latter was sentenced to 25 years for committing premeditated murder, 5 years for contempt of a corpse, 2 years for producing and distributing obscene material, 2 years for using the post office and sending obscene material, and finally, 10 years for criminal harassment of the Prime Minister and other members of the government. Many pans, we can say.

Prison is no longer what we thought. Luka Rocco Magnotta got married between the walls of the Port-Cartier penitentiary, after an unusual story. The murderer, behind bars, had posted an ad online on a dating site for prisoners. He had made a very specific request. He was looking for a “single white male, 28-38, fit”in his words.

Luka Rocco Magnotta asked to change prison

Luka Rocco Magnotta later clarified, very seriously: “If you think you are my prince charming, send me a detailed letter with at least two photos. Only those I find compatible with me will be answered. Serious inquiries only please. All unsolicited letters will be rejected”, he continued. A few weeks after placing his ad, he asked to have it removed, claiming to have “found what he was looking for”, he wrote in his announcement. It was then that in 2017, the prisoner announced that he had met the one who would later become her husband. He is a fellow prisonertherefore met on the dating site for prisoners.

The murderer is now in a maximum security prison but asks to change it in order to be placed in a medium security prison, as reported by the Montreal Journal. The Federal Court in Ottawa had a first time rejected his request and Luka Magnotta appealed claiming that the authorities were purposely slowing down his request. The murderer, who has been sentenced to life imprisonment, may however seek release in 2037.
