Almost two weeks after its release on Netflix, season 3 of “Lupin”, the series created by George Kay and starring Omar Sy in the role of the gentleman burglar, continues to break records.
Almost two weeks ago, last Thursday October 5 to be exact, Netflix put part 3 of Lupine online, still carried by the solar Omar Sy. Very quickly, this new burst of episodes, which arrived on the American platform after more than two years of waiting, broke all records, becoming in less than a week the most watched non-English fiction on Netflix between October 2 and 8. At the time, Part 3 had been viewed more than 11.6 million times worldwide.
And we have to believe that the series created by George Kay is not ready to stop there. With the equivalent of 14.1 million full views worldwide, Lupine Part 3 is the most watched program between October 9 and 15 on Netflix.
Cumulatively, this new burst of episodes now totals the equivalent of 25.7 million views since its launch on October 5. A success which also boosts the first two seasons of Lupine, released in 2021, which are in the top 5 of the most viewed non-English-speaking series. The first part is in second place with 4.7 million views, while the second is in fourth place with 4.3 million views.
For the moment, Netflix has not yet ordered season 4 for Lupine, even if it is a safe bet that these record numbers will succeed in convincing the platform to continue to tell the adventures of the gentleman burglar played by Omar Sy. Especially since the finale of season 3 raised many questions in the minds of subscribers. Answer in a few weeks…
Season 3 of Lupine picks up a few months after the events that occurred in the finale of season 2. Assane Diop is now on the run but he had difficulty getting away from his family. He then decides to return to Paris to carry out one last heist which will allow him to start a new life outside France. Unfortunately, nothing goes as planned and a ghost from his past will come and undermine his well-oiled plan.
