Madonna is getting into NFTs. The star has put on sale a triptych called “Mother of Creation”, exploring the theme of motherhood, and which did not fail to react.
And for good reason. Over these sequences, made with the artist Beeple, known among other things for having sold more than 69 million dollars an NFT work (non-fungible token in French), the singer reveals herself in the simplest device.
In the first digital work, ‘Mother of Nature’, the 63-year-old artist can be seen in avatar form, legs spread, giving birth to a tree. This collection also includes a 3D model of her vagina.
In, “Mother of Evolution”, the mother of Lourdes is indeed sitting on a car, with butterflies coming out of her private parts. The third video is dubbed “Mother of Technology”. This time, the queen of pop is in the forest, and gives birth to electronic worms.
“I wanted to explore the concept of creation, not only how a child enters the world through a woman’s vagina, but also how an artist gives birth to creativity,” Madonna said in a statement.
For the good cause
But above all, “we wanted to take this opportunity to help the mothers and children who need it the most right now,” she added. If these digital works are controversial, they were indeed created for a good cause. The videos went up for auction on SuperRare this Wednesday, May 11.
The singer said that this sale is organized for the benefit of three charities: Voices of Children, which helps Ukrainian children, City of Joy, which fights to defend women and young girls who are victims of violence in Congo, and Black Mama’s Bail Out, which supports incarcerated mothers.
