Mafia: A new opus is officially in development

On this August 29, Mafia first name, then named Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven, celebrates its twentieth anniversary (it was released on September 6 in Europe). In this context, Hangar 13, which took over the license along the way, spoke about the franchise in general, but also its future. Obviously, a multitude of points have been addressed, but what we can remember is that yes, a new episode is indeed under development.

A new Mafia game confirmed

It was Roman Hladík, the general manager of Hangar 13, who broke the news on the official website, explaining that the team had recently started work on a new Mafia gamewithout giving more details, except thatdo not expect to see it land anytime soon, since we will have to wait several years before we can find out. However, the company remains proud to be able to continue to bring this license, appreciated by millions of players, to life.

I’m happy to confirm that we have started working on a brand new Mafia project! Although it will be a few more years and we cannot say more at this time, we are excited to continue working on this franchise that we love, and to offer our players brand new stories.

While waiting to know more officially, in some time, remember that Katoku had reported several weeks ago that the next Mafia game should take place before the three titles already available. We would be here in Sicily, at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, to learn more about Don Salieri, the man at the head of the Salieri family, for whom Tommy Angelo, the protagonist of Mafia I, worked.
