Mafia: The prequel could be set in Sicily, telling the story of Don Salieri

Recently, a leak told us that the Hangar 13 studio had finally looked into a new episode of the Mafia license. This would be a prequel, taking place before the three episodes already published. New information, or rather rumors have spread in recent days, allowing you to potentially learn more about this new Mafia game.

According to information from Nick Baker, co-founder of XboxEra, and having fairly reliable sources, this Mafia would immerse us in Sicily, at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, to learn more about Don Salieri. If this name reminds you of anything, it is because it is the man at the head of the Salieri family, for whom Tommy Angelo, the protagonist of Mafia I, worked. Regarding the other details provided, we learn that this opus would be a little more linear, to find what was done with Mafia I and II rather than Mafia III.

This new Mafia has not yet been formalized, and is only at the beginning of its development. So all of this should be taken with a grain of salt. We should know more over the next few months, once Hangar 13, 2K Games and Take-Two are ready to reveal more. If you do not know this license yet, know that Mafia Trilogy was released in 2020, bringing together the three opuses of the franchise.
