This is the Häagen Dazs Favorite Selection (4×95 ml) with the expiry dates from March 4th, 2023 to April 29th, 2023, said the portal of the federal states and the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (“lebensmittelalarm.de”) on Thursday . It cannot be ruled out that the products contain traces of 2-chloroethanol (2CE).
According to the manufacturer, 2-chloroethanol may be linked to the presence of ethylene oxide, which could cause cancer. Customers who bought one of the affected ice cream flavors can return the pack to the retailer, according to the information. The purchase price will be refunded to them there. The recall is a precautionary measure.
