Majority in town hall – agreement on new Klagenfurt magistrate boss

If nothing else comes up, Jürgen Dumpelnik should move into the town hall as the new municipal director. Only Michael Zernig, the head of Ebenthal, could turn things around.

At a summit in the town hall on Tuesday, the SP, FP and Neos announced that they would vote for Dumpelnik in the local council when appointing the new magistrate chief. This means that the chairman of the supervisory board of the municipal utilities has, so to speak, 25 of the 45 votes.Greens are calling for a new tender, TK and VP for ZernigThe Greens are not voting for either candidate and are calling for a new tender. The Carinthia team and the VP prefer Zernig. Currently the vote would be 25:17 for Dumpelnik. This is the basis that city boss Christian Scheider (TK) demanded for the appointment. Dumpelnik previously worked for Voves. Dumpelnik has previously been politically active in Graz. Born in Bleiburg, he worked in a leading role for the former Styrian governor Franz Voves and then as director of the state parliament. Now he is about to return home.
