Make body butter yourself – the ingredients
For your homemade body butter you need:
- 40 grams of shea butter
- 40 grams of cocoa butter
- 40 grams of coconut oil
- 40 grams of almond oil
- Essential oil on request (e.g. lavender or rose)
In addition:
- Pot and bowl for a water bath
- Sterilized container

- Essential oil can cause skin irritation, so you should put it in one place beforehand (e.g. a drop in the elbow) check for compatibility!
Instructions for homemade body butter
For your self-made body butter, you proceed in the following steps:
- Put all ingredients (except the essential oil!) In a water bath.
- Warm it up slowly until everything is liquid. Stir in between.
- Let the mass cool down a bit.
- Now you can add a few drops of the essential oil and stir in as desired.
- In the next step fill in the resealable container and finally
- Place in the refrigerator to harden.
If the butter is too "unwieldy" for you, you can open it. All you need is a commercially available hand mixer that you use to whip the butter for several minutes.
Shelf life of body butter
If you are careful when preparing and preparing (sterilized glasses, clean tools, etc.), your DIY body butter should be stable for up to six months. Keep them dry and dark.
