Make your own shampoo – easy and natural

Making beauty products yourself is currently very much in vogue – as are alternatives to washing hair with conventional shampoo. Many swear by washing their hair with healing clay or tackling the dirt in the hair with a rye flour-water mixture. But we don't always have the time to mix the rye flour mixture anew before each use, or we prefer the consistency of the standard shampoo (only the ingredients don't always). However, you can make your own shampoo – and it's very easy!

What you need to do with the shampoo yourself:

  • 250 ml of distilled water
  • 15 g natural soap
  • Optional: herbal brew or pure essential oil

If you want self-made natural cosmetics, you should use natural soap so that you can be sure that it does not contain any synthetic substances. For the herbal stock, boil the herbs or flowers you want and then skim off the stock.

Make your own shampoo – the basic recipe with only two ingredients

You need soapy water for your homemade shampoo, so you mix the ingredients mentioned above:

  1. Bring the water to a boil
  2. Grate natural soap
  3. Mix the soap flakes with the warm water
  4. Mix with the desired essential oils or stock

Depending on how often you wash your hair, you can create a supply. The shampoo can be kept in the refrigerator for around two to three weeks.

Make your own shampoo for itchy scalp

Do you have an itchy scalp? Then add chamomile to your shampoo, which is anti-inflammatory! In addition, it provides shine and even has a lightening effect on blonde hair. For this you change the recipe a little:

  1. Instead of 250 ml of water, you only use half for the soapy water – i.e. 125 ml of distilled water
  2. You leave about 2 tablespoons of chamomile flowers in 250 ml of hot water for about an hour
  3. Then you sieve off the flowers and mix the chamomile water with the soapy water

tip: Help with hair loss or hair that becomes greasy quickly Nettle or rosemary. These are supposed to stimulate blood circulation and hair growth. Take about a handful of the nettle and two stalks of the rosemary.

Make your own care shampoo with coconut milk

Beautiful, well-groomed hair requires nutrient-rich care! This is ensured by coconut milk and honey in the shampoo – and you need that for a care shampoo:

  • 100 ml natural liquid soap
  • 100 ml coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon honey

And this is how you prepare your care shampoo:

  1. Mix the coconut milk with the liquid soap
  2. Now add the honey and stir the ingredients carefully
  3. Fill your homemade shampoo into a resealable bottle

The coconut milk makes for a nice shine and the honey for a velvety soft mane! The honey also helps keep your hair from drying out.

Make anti-dandruff shampoo yourself – instructions

If you're struggling with dandruff, you can also make your own anti-dandruff shampoo. You need this:

  • 100 ml liquid olive oil soap
  • 30 ml of distilled water
  • 30 ml sweet almond oil
  • 30 ml shea butter
  • 120 ml coconut oil
  • 20 drops of rosemary oil
  • 5 drops of eucalyptus oil

Anti-dandruff shampoo – this is how it works:

  1. Put the olive oil soap and water in a resealable bottle
  2. Add the almond oil and shake the bottle so the ingredients mix well
  3. Melt the coconut oil and shea butter
  4. Add both to the mixture in the bottle and mix well
  5. Finally add the essential oils – make sure that the mixture is not too warm, otherwise the ingredients of the oils will be lost. The temperature should be a maximum of 35 °.

Before you use the shampoo, you should Shake the bottle well again. A small amount of the shampoo is enough for soaping, let the shampoo sit for a minute or two. Important: rinse carefully!

Eucalyptus oil has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, among other things and helps against dandruff and hair loss. Rosemary nourishes and soothes the dry scalp. Almond oil contains many healthy nutrients that support the scalp and provide it with moisture. In addition, fatty acids provide the hair with a protective film and a silky sheen.
