Malawi: Malawi destroys almost 20,000 vaccine doses

The country in southern Africa received 102,000 doses of the vaccine from the African Union’s procurement commission (Avatt), Health Minister Khumbize Chiponda told the DPA news agency. Of these, 19,610 doses expired before they could be administered, according to Chiponda.

According to the Ministry of Health, Malawi, a country affected by poverty with almost 20 million inhabitants, has administered a total of around 335,000 doses of the Astrazeneca preparation. The country has reported more than 34,000 corona cases, of which 1153 patients have died.
