Pepper spray against “corona walkers”

In a demonstration against the corona measures, the police used pepper spray against several participants in Koblenz, Rhineland-Palatinate. As the officials announced on Sunday, up to 600 people took part in the unregistered so-called walk in the city center the evening before. About 15 people came to a counter protest. At first everything remained peaceful.

However, one participant in the walk later attacked police officers. As a spokesman said early Sunday morning, there was a “little nudge” during an identity check. When his identity was to be established, around 15 people showed solidarity with him. Pepper spray was used on her and the situation calmed down. According to the police, a total of four criminal proceedings were initiated.

A few days ago, around 1,800 opponents of the corona measures demonstrated in a non-registered elevator in Koblenz. Participants had carried grave candles and loudly chanted slogans against the measures to combat the pandemic. The elevator was initially accompanied and then finally disbanded. The demonstration had previously been called in popular Internet forums.
