According to information from our colleagues in the newspaper “Le Figaro”, the journalist Marc-Olivier Fogiel entered, in spite of himself, in the race to take the direction of public radio station France Inter. The former host of “We Can’t Please Everyone” has been Managing Director of BFMTV since April 24, 2019.

Three years after his arrival at its head, will Marc-Olivier Fogiel leave BFMTV? The journalist, and current director general of the continuous news channel, could be a candidate to take over the management of France Inter, according to information from our colleagues in the newspaper Le Figaro
. But the CEO of BFMTV since 2019 is not alone in the race to succeed Laurence Bloch, the current director of France Inter who is preparing to retire.

Three other names appear in the short-list for this post: Nicolas Demorand, current presenter of the morning show of France Inter, Justine Planchon, general manager of Mediawan Prod, and Vincent Meslet, director of Newen, the production subsidiary of TF1.

A profile approached by Radio France

Unlike these three media personalities, Marc-Olivier Fogiel did not apply for this post: he did not participate in the hearing process that began in December either. According to Le Figaro, he would have been contacted directly by Radio France and would have already met Sibyle Veil, the president and director of the Radio France group.

Marc-Olivier Fogiel knows the world of radio well: he started his career on RTL, but also presented the morning show of Europe 1 from 2008 to 2011. For the moment, the journalist has not commented on this potential new management of France Inter.
