Market: What is the calendar of public holidays on the Paris Stock Exchange in 2024?

(BFM Bourse) – Usually open from Monday to Friday, the Paris Stock Exchange will have six public holidays in 2024 compared to five in 2023 and three in 2022.

The Parisian market will have more public holidays in 2024 than the previous year. It will have a total of six, compared to five in 2023 and three in 2022 and 2021. Remember that the calendar of these public holidays is very different from that of the French as a general rule.

Ultimately, the Paris Stock Exchange will be closed in 2024 on the following dates:

  • • Monday January 1 (New Year’s Day)
  • • Friday March 29 (Good Friday)
  • • Monday April 1 (Easter Monday)
  • • Wednesday, May 1 (Labor Day)
  • • Wednesday December 25 (Christmas Day)
  • • Thursday December 26 (Christmas celebrations bridge)

Conversely, Wednesday May 8 (armistice of the Second World War), Thursday May 9 (Ascension), Monday May 20 (Pentecost), Thursday August 15 (Assumption) and Friday November 1 (All Saints’ Day) and Monday 11 November (armistice of the First World War), the Paris Stock Exchange will be open, even if volumes could be more or less reduced on these dates. In addition, the Paris Stock Exchange will close earlier (shortly after 2 p.m.) on Tuesdays, December 24 and December 31.

Among the other Euronext markets, Amsterdam, Brussels and Lisbon will experience the same schedule of closures as Paris. On the other hand, the Dublin Stock Exchange benefits from one additional public holiday (May 6), Milan two (August 15 and December 24). The Oslo Stock Exchange will benefit from five more public holidays (such as Maundy Thursday and December 24) than the Paris Stock Exchange.

In comparison, Wall Street will be luckier and will experience no less than 10 public holidays in 2024 while the London Stock Exchange will be closed 8 times on a weekday.
