Marriage: that expense you don’t always think about: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

It’s official. Every year at this same time, weddings are going well. And of course, this requires a huge organization each time, especially on the side of the bride and groom. The latter must absolutely manage everything from start to finish. For the magic to happen, you must first find a place that will perfectly match the style you want to give to the wedding, but also the personality of the couple. Once the place where the wedding will take place is all found, it is then necessary to call on a caterer who will treat the guests throughout the evening. And of course, this has a cost. But while it always seems like the bride and groom are getting their hands on the wallet, the guests also have to pull out a few bills. And if there are several weddings during the year, the addition can quickly be salty.

An unexpected expense

A few pages from the new edition of Marriage White Book 2023published in May 2023, were unveiled in a press release sent by the site marriage.net. It is indicated that it is 87% of the people who answered present for the wedding which will have several expenses to take into account. And the one we obviously think of first concerns transport and accommodation. To limit the costs as much as possible, many guests do not hesitate to meet in order to take joint accommodation, the same for transport if the guests go there by car. There is also the traditional wedding list. Cheques, cash or transfers, the guests prefer to put the money on the kitty rather than offer a personalized gift. In addition to these significant expenses, it will of course be necessary to find an appropriate outfit and accessories, but for this, recycling and lending with friends may be required. But there is an expense that is often unsuspected, child care. Indeed, as the press release reports, for 69% of cases the question does not arise since the children are invited. For 23% of cases, the bride and groom decide to reduce the bill by inviting only the children of relatives. In 8% of marriages, there are absolutely no children. It will therefore be necessary to add to the bill, a baby-sitting line!
