Martha is Dead censored on PlayStation with physical release postponed

In a few weeks will be released martha is dead, a psychological horror game developed by Italian studio LKA. In project for several years, the title faces bad news that has just fallen for its developers: Sony required a content change for the game to be released on PlayStation consoles. A censorship, which is therefore accompanied by a revision of the copy.

Censorship only on PlayStation

Wired Productions, the publisher of the title, and LKA, the development studio, have published a press release. This explains to us that the developers had to modify with regret the experience on the PS4 and PS5 versions with certain elements deemed non-compliant by Sony. We do not know the impact on the number of cut or modified scenes, but we must expect a slightly distorted adventure on PlayStation.

This request for censorship on the part of Sony also causes a delay in the physical versions. Developers actually have to review their copy before sending it to the pressing factories. Just for Games, the French distributor of the game, tells us that these physical versions will arrive on March 10. The relatively good news is that PC and Xbox players will not be affected since these versions will not be amputated and will offer the original adventure, as the creators thought.

As a reminder, martha is dead is a psychological thriller that tells us a dark story that takes place at the end of the Second World War. The plot tells us that Martha, a young girl, is discovered drowned in a lake, and her twin sister will have to endorse a heavy secret while discovering what happened. A resolutely mature and fatal adventure, intended for an adult audience.

martha is dead will arrive on February 24 in digital version on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series with censored content on PlayStation, then in physical version on March 10.
