Matthew McConaughey has filed a restraining order against his alleged stalker. The woman is said to have been stalking him for months.

Matthew McConaughey (53) has apparently been repeatedly harassed by a woman for some time. Now the Hollywood star has obtained an injunction against the alleged stalker. The woman is now not allowed to come near him for five years. This is reported by the US gossip portal “TMZ”. Accordingly, a judge granted the order on Thursday (October 19). The woman was not present at the court hearing and had asked for it to be postponed. However, the judge rejected this.

Alleged stalker has been harassing McConaughey for months

The alleged stalker last appeared at the actor’s book event in September 2023. Since April 2022, the woman has been bombarding McConaughey with “crazy letters, emails and irrelevant court proceedings” in order to get closer to the actor, as “TMZ” quotes from court documents. According to the report, the woman thought she was in a relationship with McConaughey.

According to the actor’s statements in court documents, the situation escalated last month when he discovered that the woman had bought a ticket to an event in Los Angeles where McConaughey was promoting his new children’s book, “Just Because.” Because he knew there would be children and families at the event, he ultimately decided to file for a restraining order. The alleged stalker appeared at the event, but was quickly taken away by police.
