It had been a while since we heard more about the Max Payne series of video games. However, this has just changed as Remedy Entertainment (known in particular for Alan Wake and controlto cite only these examples) and Rockstar Games (Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition) have formalized the development of two remakes.
Indeed, on the evening of Wednesday April 6, the studio Remedy Entertainment made a surprising announcement: from their official Twitter account, the developers declared that they were currently working on the remakes of the first and second title of the Max Payne license. These are, more specifically, the following games: Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. Remakes are co-developed with Rockstar Games.
We are pleased to announce that we will remake the iconic Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, in a new development agreement with Rockstar Games.

Regarding this, Remedy CEO Tero Virtala said, via a post on Remedygames.com: “ Max Payne has always held a special place in the hearts of everyone at Remedy […] We’re very excited to once again work with our partners at Rockstar Games to have the chance to bring the story, action, and atmosphere of the original Max Payne games to gamers, and this in a new way “.
Besides, we can expect much more than simple ports. The first two opuses should, thus, be brought up to date and should be available in a single bundle. For the moment, neither Remedy Entertainment nor Rockstar Games have revealed a release window for these two Max Payne remakes.
