Yet another scandal at Buckingham Palace? After the publication of Prince Harry’s Memoirs, a new book takes aim at the British royal family. Indeed, Omid Scobie, expert in royalty, has unveiled his latest work, Endgame (HQ ed.). In this book, the one who is accused of being very close to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry denounces numerous actions of the Windsors. And it seems that the publication of his work in the Netherlands is controversial. November 29, 2023 on X, journalist Rick Evers indicated that the Dutch version of the work would reveal the names of the two members of the royal family who allegedly made racist remarks against Meghan Markle. Remember, in 2021, the Duchess of Sussex and her husband gave an interview to Oprah Winfrey. The daughter-in-law of King Charles III then said having witnessed a remark with racist connotations when she was still at Buckingham Palace. One or more people would have said, regarding the child she was carrying, Archie, that they felt “concerns about how black his skin will be when he is born.”

In England, Piers Morgan discussed this controversy, Thursday November 30, 2023 on the British channel Talk TV. The journalist thus revealed to viewers that, according to the writings of Omid Scobie, King Charles III and Kate Middleton would be the two people behind this racist exchange. In response, a Buckingham Palace source sent a response to theAFP : “We are considering all options”. Please understand that legal action is therefore being considered against the publisher of the work. If no one has yet revealed the identity of the members of the royal family who allegedly made racist insinuations, the Dutch version of Omid Scobie’s book gives a possible answer: “In the private letters, one identity was revealed and confirmed: Charles. The king, according to several sources, wanted to respond to assure Meghan that there was no unhealthy will or prejudice when he spoke of his future grandson”, can we read in the extract from the book, revealed by the Dutch journalist. The French translation, for its part, is not as explicit: “According to several sources, the king wanted, in view of his reaction, Meghan to understand that there was no malice or prejudice on the part of the two people in question regarding her future grand- son. He wanted to clarify this point which was close to his heart, explains a relative.
