Meta Quest takes on the Apple Vision Pro with the v62 update


This Friday, February 2, 2024 marks the birth of a highly anticipated product in the world of tech: the Vision Pro. In response to Apple, Meta has unveiled update v62 for its Quest 2, Quest 3 and Quest Pro headsets.

In a blog post published on February 1, Mark Zuckerberg’s group shared several interesting new features in an attempt to upgrade its headsets.

This new version first provides support for spatial videos. The opportunity for Meta Quest users to relive their memories captured with the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max in an immersive way.

To benefit from it, simply transfer the spatial videos to your Meta Quest headset using the dedicated iOS app. After being converted, they can be directly read by Meta’s latest VR headsets.

The v62 update doesn’t stop there, it also brings new gestures to navigate the interface more easily.

Controller support has also been added for the Meta Quest browser, including the latest generations of Xbox and PlayStation controllers.

Good news for people streaming via the Xbox Cloud Gaming app, as the list of compatible controllers has been expanded, but also for those who have adopted other streaming services. cloud gaming offering only play via a browser.

Finally, Meta announced that all users can now stream on Facebook with their Meta Quest, but also that content creators on YouTube have the opportunity to see the chat during their live broadcast.
