Metroid Prime Remastered: original game developers frustrated with no credit

As fans await news of Metroid Prime 4 For years, nintendo revealed during his Direct from last week Metroid Prime Remastered, a modernized version of the GameCube game. A title launched in stride on theeShopfor which players are delighted to find samus aranbut former developers are expressing their displeasure.

On social networks, several developers who worked on the 2002 Metroid Prime are frustrated at not being credited in the credits of Metroid Prime Remastered. Zoid Kirsch thus specifies that, even if the work carried out on the remaster is impressive, the old devs deserved better than a simple card stating: “Based on the work of the development team of Metroid Prime (original Nintendo GameCube and Wii version)”. Jack Mathews goes further and speaks of a “parody”, claiming that the code and the work of several friends has been preserved in this remasterwhich are therefore not mentioned in the credits.

As a reminder, Metroid Dread suffered the same wrath, this was an unreleased title developed by MercurySteam in which artists and animators have not been credited. And more recently, it’s Striking Distance Studios (The Callisto Protocol) which had forgotten developers in the credits, under the background of a dirty internal atmosphere.

Metroid Prime Remastered is currently only available on theeShop Nintendo Switch, but a physical version is expected on March 3you can pre-order it against €39.99 per Fnac.
