MG EHS: the plug-in hybrid still in the game


MG continues to consolidate its model range in France with full electric, thermal and rechargeable hybrid. On this last point, the EHS with its wise silhouette benefits from a welcome dusting, which gives a second wind to this family SUV which has passed since its launch in France (2021) at 6,500 copies.

The new EHS therefore displays a new design and presents aesthetic evolutions, with a more dynamic front face equipped with a new shield incorporating vertical indicators, a new grille and front lights fully equipped with LEDs from the Comfort finish. At the rear, changes are made to the lights and the shield, which now incorporates the exhaust pipes. Additionally, new rims and two body colors, Brighton Blue and Iron Oxide Grey, expand the options already available.

The dimensions of the MG EHS have undergone slight changes with a length of 4.61 m (+3.6 cm) and a height of 1.69 m (+2.1 cm), while the width and wheelbase remain unchanged at 1.88 and 2.72 m respectively.

The infotainment system also benefits from improvements with the addition of a more powerful processor, which is supposed to offer a faster and smoother experience, all accompanied by a redesigned interface. CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity is integrated from the Comfort finish.

As for the motorization, there are no changes to report. The MG EHS retains its 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine (162 hp and 250 Nm) combined with an electric motor (122 hp and 230 Nm), all displaying a combined power of 258 hp and a maximum torque of 370 Nm. The MG EHS achieves 0 to 100 km/h in an honorable 6.9 s. The electric motor is powered by a 16.6 kWh lithium-ion battery, which promises an all-electric range of 52 km. The 3.7 kW on-board charger can fully charge the battery with alternating current in approximately 4 h 30 min.

Prices and equipment are not currently detailed, but will be announced when orders open on July 3, 2023. The version currently on sale starts at €35,490.
