At the beginning of the year, Michael Bolton didn’t have good news for his fans: he had to undergo emergency surgery.

The American musician Michael Bolton (70) was diagnosed with a brain tumor. That’s why he had to undergo “immediate surgery” before the holidays. The “When a Man Loves a Woman” singer announced this on his social networks on January 5th.

He is now recovering at home

In the statement, he also announced that he would be taking a break from touring to focus on his recovery. “Just before the holidays it was discovered that I had a brain tumor that required immediate surgery. Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success,” wrote the singer, who celebrates his 71st birthday next month. “I am now recovering at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family.”

The Grammy winner went on to tell fans that he would be “dedicating the next few months” to his recovery and taking a “temporary break” from touring. “It’s always the hardest thing for me to disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but I have no doubt that I’m working hard to speed up my recovery and get back to performing soon,” Bolton wrote, thanking his fans for theirs “Love” and “support” over the years. “You know that I keep your positive messages in my heart, and I will provide you with further updates as soon as possible,” he concluded his statement.

Last year, the singer released his new album “Spark of Light” and emphasized in an interview that his family life was his greatest joy. Bolton has three daughters and six grandchildren. “I feel even more love and pride for my girls since they started their own families,” he said. “The people I love give me a lot of happiness…The important things never really change. Love is the most important thing, the center of the universe. There is nothing greater.”

With stage names to success

Michael Bolton initially tried to gain a foothold in the music world under his birth name, Michael Bolotin.
