Michael Wendler
Controversial singer shuts down his Telegram channel
The singer and former “DSDS” judge Michael Wendler says goodbye to his Telegram channel.
The German singer Michael Wendler (50) has attracted attention in recent years during the corona pandemic, in particular with conspiracy myths on Telegram. Now the 50-year-old is closing his channel there, as reported by the “Bild” newspaper, among others.
“I have decided to completely delete my Telegram channel in the next few days,” the daily newspaper quotes a post by Wendler, which he addressed to his “dear followers, fans and friends”. There will be no new content there in the future. He also says goodbye with “greetings from the USA”, where Wendler lives with his wife Laura Müller (22).
Michael Wendler is expecting a child with Laura Müller
The reasons for this step are not known. The couple recently announced that they are expecting a child. Müller published a picture together on Instagram in February, to which she wrote: “Love in the stomach: Our great happiness is on the way.” It will be Müller’s first child, Michael Wendler also has his daughter Adeline (21) from his first marriage.
With the spread of conspiracy myths, Wendler shot himself out in Germany. He was on the jury for “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” in 2020, but surprisingly left in October. He gave the behavior of the federal government during the corona pandemic as the reason for this and explained, among other things, that many German TV stations were allegedly “politically controlled”. RTL and Wendler’s advertising partner at the time had each other quickly distanced himself from the singer. From later material that was already recorded, the 50-year-old was removed from the station after further statements.
How the singer should continue is unclear. Wendler had already declared at least in 2021 that he wanted to return. “Yes – I’m coming back to Germany! Not with my place of residence, that stays in the USA”, did he then have the “image” said. He never intended to “end his career”.
