Michelle Obama: Barack Obama becomes first guest on her podcast

Michelle Obama will premiere on July 29, 2020 with her own podcast. In the first episode she will be heard with Barack Obama.

Michelle Obama (56) will launch her own podcast on Spotify on July 29, 2020. The streaming service has now revealed on Instagram, among others, who will be heard alongside the ex-first lady in the first episode: it is none other than Michelle Obama's husband, former US President Barack Obama (58). This should guarantee a successful start for "The Michelle Obama Podcast".

As the US industry portal "Variety" reports, the two will talk about their origins and their life together after their time in the White House, but will also have a discussion about the relationship of Americans to society in a time of social turmoil. In times of the "Black Lives Matter" movement and the corona pandemic, many people would wonder how they could fit into a society, Michelle Obama said in a statement.

She explains that she invited her husband as her first guest, "because he answered these questions throughout his life. In many ways, his entire career can be seen as a constant conversation and development of his relationship with an ever larger community." The couple also talks about spending time together in corona self-isolation. They would have spent a lot of time together and loved it, explains Michelle Obama. "But we also had interesting conversations and discussions … It's just crazy times."

These are other guests in the "Michelle Obama Podcast"

In mid-July, Michelle Obama announced that the podcast was intended to help listeners "open new conversations with the people who matter most to them." Her guests include her mother Marian Robinson (82), her older brother Craig (58) and top-class TV faces such as moderator Conan O'Brien (57).
