Microsoft Flight Simulator is heading to New Zealand for its new update

This salutary update comes to give relief to the country of the All Blacks, previously too flat to stick to reality. As usual, Asobo relies on very high resolution photogrammetric data to refine their reproduction at 1:1 scale. Seven cities have been completely renovated: Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton, Nelson, Queenstown, Tauranga and Wellington. In all, 62 unique points of interest have been scattered across the archipelago, ranging from the New Zealand parliament to the Tikitere geothermal park and Mount Cook. You can even unearth, in the north of the country, the Hobbitebourg film set, nestled on the Matamata site. To top it off, nine new airports have been reproduced by hand, with atypical destinations like the Gorge River airstrip.

Tourist routes

To encourage you to drag the wings towards Oceania, a dozen missions will put your skills as a digital pilot to the test. In bulk, there are:

  • 3 bush trips (including a historical reproduction of the archipelago’s first aerial route)
  • 3 discovery flights
  • 4 landing challenges

It’s crazy all the content that can be wedged into such a small country. ThereWorld Update XII is already available, just put your copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator up to date to take advantage of it. You can find the complete list of points and interests and driving challenges on the official website (for English speakers only).
