You didn’t have to wait for the free extension Top Gun: Maverick for new content Microsoft Flight Simulator. He has indeed just welcomed his World 9 Update2 months after the one dedicated to Spain and Portugal, which this time focuses on Italy and Malta.

On the program, 4 manually modeled airports, 20 improved cities, 94 added points of interest and more, to enjoy for free now via a patch. No new trailer has not aired, but previously unreleased content has been summarized by the editor.
Fly over the historic cities of Rome and Venice, soar over the Mediterranean coasts and skirt the rugged peaks in unprecedented realism thanks to the ninth World Update: Italy and Malta. The Microsoft Flight Simulator team refined these countries with an improved elevation map, high-resolution photogrammetry and more detailed aerial imagery, as well as modeling of 20 cities via the Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) system, including Rome, Naples, Venice and Milan.
The Ninth World Update includes:
- Four hand-created airports:
- Palermo Airport (LICJ) in Sicily;
- Sondrio (LILO), in South Tyrol;
- Marina di Campo (LIRJ) on the island of Elba;
- Bolanzo (LIPB), in South Tyrol.
- Improved details of 100 more airports;
- 94 points of interest in Italy;
- 11 points of interest in Malta;
- Three bush trips;
- Three discovery flights;
- Three new landing challenges.
