The singer of the band Metal Church is dead: US star Mike Howe died at the age of 55, as his bandmates announced on Facebook.

The band Metal Church mourns their singer. Mike Howe (1965-2021) died on Monday morning (July 26th) at the age of 55, as the US musicians share on Facebook. Accordingly, he died in his home in Eureka, California. Howe was the singer of the metal band from 1988 to 1994 and since 2015.

“It is with deep regret that we have to announce the death of our brother, our friend and a true legend of heavy metal music,” said Metal Church’s Facebook page. “We are devastated and we have no words.” The band asks that you respect your privacy and that of the Howe family “during this difficult time”. Metal Church has not yet announced any more details about the circumstances of death.

Mike Howe rejoined Metal Church after nearly 20 years

In the 1980s, Mike Howe was a member of the bands Snair and Heretic. As the successor to singer David Wayne (1958-2005) he joined Metal Church in 1988 and recorded the three albums “Blessing in Disguise” (1989), “The Human Factor” (1991) and “Hanging in the Balance” with the formation. (1993). In 1996 the band split up for the time being and Howe took an almost 20 year hiatus from music. In 2015 he returned to Metal Church, three more long players followed.
