Minecraft on Xbox Series could soon benefit from ray tracing


A few days ago, we learned of the arrival of Minecraft Preview, a standalone application allowing Minecraft players to test the different beta versions of the title of Mojang Studiosand thus replacing at the same time the already existing beta program.

Available on iOS, Xbox and Windows 10 and Windows 11, it seems that the application has unveiled a new feature planned for the Xbox Series X and S consoles with the arrival of ray tracing.

Ray tracing soon available in Minecraft on Xbox Series?

As we told you a few days ago, Minecraft Preview allows players to enjoy test versions of Minecraft, and very recently, Tom Warreneditor of The Verge, shared on the social network Twitter a video capture in which we can see that its Preview version has the ray tracing option.

In the video, once the ray tracing option is activated, we then face the cubic world in a new light, with more real-life lighting. The landscapes actually really come to life, and the result is more than pleasant. However, despite this good news, it seems that not all Xbox Series owners have access to this option yet in the proposed Preview version.

It means that ray tracing is most certainly being deployed, but gradually and not at full speed on all machines. We will therefore have to be patient again before seeing this option land on Microsoft consoles in a definitive way.

Furthermore, regarding PlayStation gamers, it’s a total blur. This feature is indeed completely absent, whether on PS4 or PS5, and there is no information indicating any arrival of the latter on Sony machines.
