On Minecraft, players will encounter many animals living in different biomes. Among them we find parrots (also called “Parots” or “Parotess” in English). In this dedicated guide, we explain how to tame these parrots and where to find them.

How and where to find parrots?

Find some parrots in minecraft is not necessarily easy. Indeed, unlike, for example, cows or sheep, parrots are birds that cannot be seen in all biomes of the game. As you will have understood, it is therefore in a very specific area that you will be able to see parrots : the Jungle biome (easily identifiable thanks to its very dense vegetation, but uncommon biome).

If you are in a Jungle biome, walk around to find parrots. Do not hesitate to look up from time to time, because these animals are, of course, present on the ground as well as in the air. Generally, the parrots move in small groups, but you may see one alone. In any case, you may encounter parrots of different colors. On our side, we saw a dark blue one and, in particular, we tamed one that was light blue, yellow and green.

For your information, be aware that on Minecraftthem parrots cannot reproduce. Thus, you cannot breed parrots. In terms of loot, parrots give feathers.

How to tame parrots?

For’tame parrots in minecraftyou will need to have a specific item in your inventory: seeds basic or specific (pumpkin, watermelon, etc.). The easiest way is to collect basic seeds. To do this, make a shovel and then use it on the young grass shoots on the ground. You should normally collect seeds.

As soon as it’s done, go back to see the parrots that you have previously seen or are looking for (depending on the steps you have followed). Take the seeds in your hand, wait for the birds to land on the ground, and finally slowly approach them. Once you’re close enough, you’ll see the “Tame” command on your screen and you can feed them seeds (right click or LT key). Carry out the operation until you see hearts appear above the head of the parrot. If so, you will have successfully tamed a parrot and it will be placed on one of your character’s shoulders.
