Minister Franck Riester tested positive for Covid-19 a second time

A member of the government will spend the holidays in isolation. This is Franck Riester, Minister for Foreign Trade and Attractiveness, who announced that he tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, in a message posted on his Twitter account. “Following a fever, I tested positive for Covid-19. I isolate myself this evening, and carry out my missions remotely. Be careful, get vaccinated and protect your relatives by respecting health instructions and barrier gestures “, wrote the minister.

This is the second time that Franck Riester has tested positive for Covid-19. Then Minister of Culture, at the start of the global pandemic, in March 2020, he had contracted the virus. After showing symptoms, his cabinet then assured that the minister was “in shape” and that he was isolated at his home.

Franck Riester’s new contamination comes a few days after his government colleague, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, tested positive for the virus after having been in contact. On Sunday, the Minister in charge of Industry had specified that she was asymptomatic and would continue to carry out her ministerial activities remotely. At the end of November, Prime Minister Jean Castex had also tested positive for the coronavirus, just like his 11-year-old daughter.
