Mirco Nontschew died last Friday (December 3rd) at the age of only 52. His former broadcaster RTL is now dedicating a special to him.

The grief after Mirco Nontschew’s (1969-2021) unexpected death is great. His former employer RTL is dedicating another commemorative program to the comedy star next Wednesday (December 8th). That emerges from a press release from the broadcaster. The two-hour special “Thanks Mirco” will be broadcast at 8:15 pm.

“We are incredibly sad about the sudden death of Mirco Nontschew. With him we not only lose one of the best comedians in Germany, but also a very special colleague. We are proud that Mirco was part of the RTL family and millions of viewers has brought unforgettable television moments. All of our thoughts and our deepest sympathy are with his family and friends “, RTL entertainment director Markus Küttner mourned in the broadcaster’s statement.

The station shows the highlights from “RTL Saturday Night”

Nontschew celebrated his breakthrough with the “Saturday Night Live” inspired show “RTL Saturday Night”. From 1993 to 1998 he stood in front of the camera for the format and made an audience of millions laugh at the side of Wigald Boning (54), Esther Schweins (51) and Olli Dittrich (65). In “Danke Mirco” RTL shows the funniest moments of the exceptional comedian. Seven days after it was broadcast on TV, “Danke Mirco” and best-of episodes from “RTL Saturday Night” will be available free of charge on the RTL + streaming service.

Mirco Nontschew was found dead in his Berlin apartment last Friday. According to the current state of investigation, the police have no evidence of third-party negligence or suicide. Several media reports unanimously.
